Corporate social responsibility is a long term strategy that aligns business strategies and operations with universal values. We visited Concordia Children’s Services for our service learning. Here, we met the actual community and we assessed their needs. We provided an opportunity to further enhance all their stakeholders, namely the management, kids and all their future families’, lifestyles. We came to a conclusion that the community needs intense marketing and exposure to find more sponsors and supporters for their activities and programs.
When we went to the site, I was surprised. It looked better than I expected. I guess this is me comparing it to previous outreach programs. We got the chance to talk to the ‘moms’ and ‘ates’ of the organizations, and also, we got to play and take care of the current residents. I, a fan of kids, loved this part for we got to interact. Also, we got to talk to one of the companies that support the organizations. His insight on Concordia meant a lot and it made me open up my mind about adoption. When it was me before, I was closed minded when it came to that but seeing those kids with a whole future ahead of them with no one to guide them. Well, it was just heart breaking. Now, with this realization, I will fully support this cause.
After analyzing what is needed, thinking of the alternatives and consequences, personally, I would like to say that I am happy with everything that has happened. I am glad to be given the chance and opportunity to take place and experience this life changing activity and, with the help of what I’ve learned in CSRGOVE, get the chance to help and improve their lives.
Happy birthday to one of the boys that can cheer me up and make me smile. Thank you for always being there for me. Have a great one!! ☺️☺️
